Roosevelt Cook Jr., representing Cal Coast Track Club, placed second in the Masters men's 8-kilometer race in 27:31 at the USATF Cross Country Championships, presented by Toyota, at Mission Bay Park in San Diego. Cook, 42, was also runner-up in the 40-44 age division, helping Cal Coast finish second overall in the team competition.
